'Let's Get Weird' (the band battlecry) only touches on the strange world of this Californian band. They claim the band was formed under a full moon. They claim to like dancing naked to drums in the forests of Santa Cruz. You are now entering planet Sleepy Sun, please leave all inhibitions behind.

Although they all grew up in the mystical land of Santa Cruz which the band still pay the greatest respect to, they felt they had to move to San Francisco to have any notoriety in the music industry, mainly due to the fact that there are in fact only 4 or 5 venues to play at in Santa Cruz. The sextet all moved into one house, and fuelled on pizza they spent their lives jamming, no one member ever taking charge of what the direction should be. These jams adopted a strange, spiritual feel, where their psychedelic feel truly took shape.

To record their debut album, ‘Embrace’, they moved to Vancouver in order to find the focus they needed, clearly missing their quiet Northern Californian roots. ‘Embrace’, released on ATP Records gathered a tremendous fanbase for the stoner rockers, encouraging them to go on a tour of Europe and the States. The otherworldly duet vocals mixed with strong guitar riffs formed a sound that is refreshing in a world of indie bands.

Their stage shows are famed for being high-energy experiences, inspired by original Black Sabbath works, and having shared the stage with bands like Citay and Earth it is apparent that they are ultimately destined for greatness, even if they will be covered in red earth and face paint in the process.
