My Morning Jacket

Cult US act who blend loud guitars with keening Southern harmonies. The band mix together psychedelic, indie rock and jam band styles. The band's fifth album "Evil Urges" was released in June this year, With "Evil Urges" the band went and took a creative leap that would make Bowie blush, turning "Evil Urges" into a bubbling gumbo of Prince-like disco, drum machines, sultry acoustic lullabies, sexual metaphors and, okay yeah, some guitar-heavy rock. It was an altogether lovely album. You don't get much better than Jim James' soaring range - it's a gift from god.
