Known primarily for ground-breaking, repetitive electronica and trance inducing jazz, Roedelius was a key figure in the early German avant-garde and pioneer in the spheres of Krautrock and ambient music. A founding member of the influential Kluster, he has collaborated with luminaries such as Brian Eno. First recorded in the mid-Eighties this album highlights the increasing New Age inclinations of his Virgin recording years. Focusing almost entirely on the piano and its various Baroque forms creates shimmering, atmospheric soundscapes which are eerily indicative of the title. Spare, elegant and way ahead of its time, this quietly affecting album is ripe for reassessment.
