Green Day 2010 UK Stadium Shows

Massive British dates confirmed

American superstar punks Green Day have confirmed details of two enormous British stadium shows.

Green Day are a global phenomenon. Sure, their career may stretch back over two decades, right back to selling self-pressed albums out of the back of their tour van, but now the band are one of the biggest on the planet.

Releasing one of the decade’s defining albums certainly helped. ‘American Idiot’ tapped into a number of fears over the Bush administration, with its concept songwriting helping people explore their fears over the way the world was being run.

Since then Green Day have enjoyed huge fame, playing a number of enormous shows. Soon after the album was released the band travelled to the UK to perform a ferocious set at the Milton Keynes Bowl.

Playing before countless thousands of fans, Green Day captured the moment for posterity on a new concert DVD. Now the band have decided to return to the UK for their largest shows in some time.

Touring their latest album ’21st Century Breakdown’ the trio are due to return to the UK for their first British stadium shows in four years.

Announcing the shows during a photocall at Wembley Stadium, Green Day confirmed that they are set to play two enormous gigs in London and Manchester.

Opening with a huge show at Manchester’s Lancashire County Cricket Ground on June 16th the band are set to travel down to London for another show on June 19th.

Tickets for the shows are due to go on sale on November 6th from 9am.

Green Day are due to play the following shows:

16 Manchester Lancashire County Cricket Ground
19 London Wembley Stadium
