Jamaican-American actress, singer and model Grace Jones was born to a clergyman father. Growing up in New York, she first became a model before securing a record contract. Her adoption of electronic and world music styles made her a club favorite, and inspired a huge gay following. Known almost as much for her androgynous look as her music, Jones would become the first colored Bond girl.
