Formed out of the fertile Liverpudlian post-punk milieu, Echo and The Bunnymen went on to become one of the biggest, and most respected, UK exports of the eighties. Formed in 1978, "Echo" was originally their drum machine. The band progressed from the Nuggets-garage / Television influences of their debut "Crocodiles" to the bombast of their 1984 masterpiece "Ocean Rain". The band split towards the end of the decade, but reformed to great acclaim in the late nineties.
