Amy Winehouse

Tried to make her go to rehab

Amy Winehouse

London singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse is as well-known in the tabloids as the music press. Born to a Jewish family in London with a rich Jazz heritage, Winehouse was expelled from the Sylvia Young theatre school before entering the music on her own terms. Debut album "Frank" was nominated for a Mercury, before "Back To Black" became a trans-atlantic sensation. Now, perhaps, her personal life is overshadowing her creativity, but she remains a powerful, if unfocused, artist.
