Former lynch-pin of Atari Teenage Riot, Alec Empire has sought to define the sound of Berlin for nearly two decades. By blending his two favourite forms of 'hardcore' music - punk and techno - Empire aims to shock the listener into questioning their surroundings. A heavy political current runs through his entire career, with Empire a commited member of left wing, libertarian causes.
