Banksy (And Röyksopp) Smash Discogs Record

A hand-painted copy of 'Melody AM' sells for huge amount...

A copy of Röyksopp's hand-painted by Banksy has broken the sales record on Discogs.

The Norwegian group's ultra-chill 2001 long player became a breakout statement, and attracted the attention of the reclusive British artist(s).

Banksy hand-painted a limited edition of 100 copies, and the artist's subsequent global fame has turned them into ultra-collectable pieces.

One copy reached Discogs, where it sold for a grand total of $10,256, smashing the previous record.

It's been a busy month for Banksy, who also hosted a pop-up shop in Croydon, where he sold copies of the stab vest made for Stormzy's Glastonbury performance.
