"Death lingers malignantly and we learn of Felice’s own scrapes with the grim reaper. He was pronounced clinically dead at twelve years old after a brain aneurysm, and he knocked on death’s door once more in the summer of 2010 when he was forced to undergo open-heart surgery after a childhood congenital defect threatened an unjustly early exit.

His survival has imbued him with love, gratitude and retrospection, and now openhearted is a fitting way to describe the songs he writes and the way he sings them."
