Hit Europe, bring camera...

The explosion of indie pop in Brooklyn has thrown up countless new groups.

Standing apart from the new wave of duffle-coat wearing, Sarah Records collecting indie kids as The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart. With an ideology more at home with classic pop, the band take the best elements of shoegaze and C86, before blending them with something very individual.

Releasing their debut album in 2009, the band had a clear pop touch which went beyond the Brooklyn scene. Following this with a quickfire EP, The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart have a subtle melodic touch which transcends any pre-configured 'scene'.

Working with Alan Moulder on their second album, the band are now ready to unleash a blast of new material. The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart are set to release 'Belong' on March 28th, with the album representing a major step forward.

Caught in action on their recent European tour, The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart seemed more rounded, more experienced and more confident.
