Martha Wainwright has confirmed plans to take her full band out on the road later this year.
Difficult times for Martha Wainwright. The songwriter lost her mother last year, pushing her into a spell of introspection. Pouring her energies into music, new album 'Come Home To Mama' is a frank, emotional experience. Out on October 15th, Martha Wainwright is planning to follow the release with a full British tour.
Announcing a series of shows, Martha Wainwright has confirmed that her full band will be taking part. Brad Albetta (bass), Andrew Whiteman from Broken Social Scene (guitar), his wife, Ariel Engle (backing vocals) and a drummer are set to tread the boards, with material said to be focussed on 'Come Home To Mama'.
Opening in London on December 2nd, the tour then hits Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol and more. Ending in Brighton on December 7th, tickets for all upcoming shows are on sale now. Here's 'Proserpina'.
