Unquestionable talent and vulnerability in equal measure

You may have noticed Lucy as the meekly mannered unofficial fifth member of Bombay Bicycle Club, touring and providing backing vocals. Now stepping into the spotlight, this debut reveals her unquestionable talent and vulnerability in equal measure. Recorded in her parent’s basement ‘Like I Used To’ has a real intimate feel, as though each song is a diary entry guiding us through a landscape of tumultuous emotions. She’s also captured on record the ‘you could hear a pin drop’ crowd gripping ability learned from playing extensive open-mic nights. Delicate acoustic melodies mirror her lyrical fragility. ‘Shiver’s quavering vocals make for intense, heart-on-sleeve highlight.
